My son started teething around 3.5 months, had his first two teeth just before 6 months, and it seems like he has been teething nonstop ever since! He now has 6 teeth and more coming in. These are the toys he has loved chewing on and the remedies we have been using that really seem to help him with the discomfort. Hopefully they can help your little one(s) as well! *Note: Did you know, even if your baby is not teething, chewing toys are still super beneficial? They help baby develop the skills needed to learn how to properly chew food and strengthen the jaw muscles!

1. Como Tomo Baby Teether: This is hands down my son’s favorite teething toy! This thing has been a life saver. We thought we lost it once and I was devastated because it was his favorite, so I ordered a new one but a couple hours later it turned back up. We were so relieved!

2. Teething Sticks: We call these “chewy sticks” in our house 🙂 These are amazing and he loves chewing and biting on them. We have one in the car, one in the stroller, one in the living room, one in the playpen, one at Gigi’s house, and one in the sterilizer at all times.

3. Carrot Teether: This dang carrot! He really likes it. The textured ends must feel really good on his sore gums because he will go to town on this for awhile.

4. Pretzel Teether: The shape of the pretzel is really fun for him to hold and it has texture as well. It took him a bit to get into this one (I thought he was never going to like it) but once he decided to start chewing on it, there was no stopping.

5. Remote Teether: We had a funny idea to get this one because I had been looking for a toy remote, since he always wants to play with the real remote. When I saw this one and saw that it was actually a teether, I bought it immediately because it looks pretty similar to the actual TV remote! He likes playing with this and chewing on it as well.

6. Haakaa Handheld Teething Pops: This is called the “icy pop” in our household! He absolutely loves this one. The little tray makes the perfect sized frozen cylinders to fit inside the teether. We’ve done plain water, water with little bits of chopped fruit, mashed + frozen banana, and breastmilk in these and he’s a huge fan. Plus the handle is also a textured teether so it’s essentially a double sided gem!

7. Wellements Teething Oil: We have both the daytime and nighttime versions of this oil and it comes in handy all the time. I will say it can be tricky to rub on his gums because he just wants to bite down on my fingers, but it definitely seems to help sooth his gums when I can get it on there. Plus it’s organic which is awesome.

8. Camilia Teething Relief: If I could give this stuff a 10 star rating, I would do it over and over again. It’s all natural and we can see the relief start to take place within minutes. I give him one capsule every 3-4 hours during the day, depending how he’s feeling. The combination of this and the teething oil (#7) is what has gotten us through teething so far.

As more teeth come in (especially when molars start breaking through) I will continue to evaluate what we are using and doing, and will update this list accordingly if needed. It really is hard to see your baby in pain and uncomfortable so finding things they like to chew and bite on and medicines that work is detrimental during this time! Just remember, lots of cuddles and kisses and patience will go a long way too 🙂
